Field + Supply

Field + Supply

Whew. What a weekend.

I currently feel like I was run over by a monster truck 🚚, backed over by a tractor 🚜, and then gently stepped on by an elephant 🐘. You spend months planning, pouring candles, sweating through your shirts, theorizing, and spending an obscenely irresponsible amount of money - just completely losing your mind over one single weekend. Then it actually happens.

The weather 🌧️💨 decides to play tricks on you, you talk to approximately nine million people, and you willingly hand over your precious candle babies to total strangers. You make best friends with other makers, you cry into a coffee cup, you laugh hysterically at nothing - it is a glorious, chaotic fever dream. It was epic. And yes, like a glutton for punishment, I will absolutely be back in the fall!

If you’ve never been, Field + Supply takes place every Spring and Fall at The Hutton Brickyards in Kingston, NY. The venue is so stunning it’s honestly rude. It is worth going just to sit on the grass, stare at the Hudson River, watch the boats, and pretend you don’t have emails to answer. But if you share my primary personality traits - drinking and shopping - it is a literal paradise. Over 200 incredibly talented makers gather to show off the best of the best. Influencers flock to find their aesthetic, boutique buyers talk shop, and people travel from miles away. It’s awesome.

I also lucked out with the absolute best tent-mates ⛺ in the entire venue. I am not just saying this because I know they will read this and judge me. Having them next to me was a genuine lifesaver. Go look up The Ardent Homesteader (she makes caramel that will make you see God) and Carla Colour (I’ve worn her Lind sunglasses 🕶️ for years, and now Blake Lively wears them too, meaning Blake and I are practically the same person). Sorry, Kristin! I went full paparazzi mode and rushed it. The booth photo is super blurry.

This year, because I apparently love stress, I went BIG. I pulled off a massive rebrand and launched all my new products at the show. I think it was a hit? At least, that’s what people told my face. Check out the New Collection.

In all seriousness, I got so many compliments on the new branding, and it meant the absolute world to me. I spent a borderline unhealthy amount of time obsessing over fonts, labels, vessels, colors, and packaging materials. I lost sleep over millimeters of sticker alignment. So when a customer looks at it and says, "I love your packaging," an angel 😇 gets its wings and my impostor syndrome shrinks by two inches. It hits right in the heart.

To prove I survived, here is a surprisingly decent photo of me looking like a functioning human with all of my new candle babies, courtesy of my wonderful friend Mo.

Thank you to EVERYONE who came out this weekend and spent your hard-earned money to support small businesses like mine. 🥹❤️

Let’s be real, just existing right now is expensive. Gas prices are high, groceries are wild, and basically surviving each day is a financial sport. So when you pick up one of my candles and say, “I want this in my home,” I know that’s a real choice and a real commitment. It means the absolute world to me. Thank you for keeping my dream burning. 🫶🕯️
